Watercolor has a way of humbling you🤪. I’ve been working on light this summer. Rays of light, light through fabric, reflective light, light and shadow……it just doesn’t end. A little encouragement to keep practicing, observing and trying things that challenge. Not there yet but I like where it’s going.

Can you smell that fresh air in those cotton sheets? Can you see your Granny hanging them on the line? Can you hear the wind blow through the fabric? There are days like today that I need laundry on the line just to reminisce and remind me to slow down a little.

Take the class, sign up to volunteer, go to the group. I decided to improve my drawing skills at the local university, Kennesaw State, community classes. It took investing in myself and lots of practice but I believe there was growth, still lots more to learn. Do things that make you better or that you just enjoy doing. If you are near KSU, their OLLI program has been fantastic. Currently I am in a landscape drawing class, I’m gonna try a painting class in the fall. Hope to see you there.

This year I joined an incredible group of women for Bible study each Friday morning. I can’t tell you what a blessing it has been. Our last study was on Proverbs and I created this little painting to commemorate our study. I’m missing our time together and can’t wait until August to get back to it!
