It's the twins' 13th birthday!!! I was riding through the subdivision and saw them outside...and then I saw one of our other kids driving down the street. Earlier today, I saw a parent in the store...her twins are 15 and her oldest child is getting ready to turn 17 and finishing up driving school. Everybody's growing up!

Do you know how to tie your shoes?

Did you learn how to hide under your desk in case a maniac with an assault r***e breaks in your school?

I am so sick of this I could scream.

My heart is shattered for the families in Oregon who are screaming right now.

Trying to comprehend the unbelievable reality that their CHILDREN were gunned down in their CLASSROOM.

That a teacher in that school died, likely trying to protect them.

I am in tears for the parents who are still waiting for the details.

The kids who were inside a building where their classmates and friends were murdered in front of their eyes.

How do you explain that type of trauma?

How do we as a nation continue to live with this soul crushing grief?

It is easy and spineless to say that a school shooting is rare, or unlikely to happen in your kid’s classroom.

The children who were murdered at school are not just a statistic.

They were kids.

The children in those classrooms should have been learning math and social studies and how to be kind.

Not proper etiquette at their friend’s funerals.

This is inexcusable and every parent I know right now is choked with grief and sadness and the nauseating certainty that this could be any of our children.

We should be sending our kids to learn.

Not to be murdered in their classrooms.
