General announcement: the meet-ups originally scheduled for April 25 and May 9 are canceled. The one for May 23 is still on the schedule.

We normally meet at Good Stuff coffee house in Dallas but if you know of a good place closer to you... we could definitely swing a meet up in that direction!

Hello, beautiful people! It’s Dani, again, with Virtue Friday.

Today we have Hospitality.

This is the one I am most excited for. The Dedicant Handbook defines hospitality as, “Acting as both a gracious host and an appreciative guest, involving benevolence, friendliness, humor, and the honoring of ‘a gift for a gift’.” Hospitality has been a cornerstone component to society since its inception. We want to be kind and giving to others, because being a guest is a vulnerable position to be in. In turn, we want to be appreciative to our hosts and show them our thanks. Reciprocity is important in all relationships, including the relationship with the divine.

In the Core Order of Ritual we see hospitality in action. We offer to the Kindred, we show appreciation to the deity of occasion, we thank the gatekeeper. And in return we are granted blessings and advice. Give and take, this is the basic building block of many neopagan traditions.

TLDR: Be gracious to your guests, be appreciative to your host, and create harmony. 💚
