Anyone ever tried arguing your firing?

Covid-19 is a new experience for all of us, but has anyone ever been stuck at a station(or stayed at nearby lodging) with other staffers during a blizzard, flood, earthquake, hurricane, etc.? Any interesting stories?

At my first job in radio, the out of town owner would sometimes make surprise visits and would arrive early and hide in the cellar so he could make sure the morning crew wasn't late for work.

Real of urban legend? Disc Jockey at 3rd rate radio station tries to conduct an EBS test, nothing happens so he fakes the high pitched tone sound with his own voice.

You're on lunch break during the noon news/Paul Harvey break and it's time to get back into the studio and there's a ban on eating in the studio but you figure what's the harm in bringing in your last few bites of your sandwich dry sandwich into the studio. PD is talking to News Director in the adjacent studio and notices this & starts angrily wagging his finger at you(just like mom used to do when we were 6 years old). Isn't he overreacting a bit?

Hostile Work Environment, Example #47:
You get yelled at for using large size copy paper when the copy machine is temporarily out of regular size paper. You cost the company roughly 25 cents. Better that you wait around and clock in 5 minutes of downtime on a busy day while waiting for the secretary to get back from a break to show you where the regular size paper is.

Crazy stories from your campus radio days? Back in the vinyl days, albums constantly being ripped off from our music library(which anyone in the studios had full access to). High level station management decided to do a home-to-home check of every member of the station to look through our personal record collections. Though I was on the governing board(Publicity Director) I was not exempt. 3 of the "brass" showed up in my bedroom one Saturday morning(my roomie let them in). Very unconstitutional, but hey, we were just dumb kids then.

Have you ever observed or been involved in any physical altercations at a radio station?

I saw the AM news director start a shoving match with the manager/part owner. Oddly, the news director still had his job afterward.

Recalling those days of yore back at my college radio station. We were always engaging in "higher ed stuff" such as listening to an extreme shotgun jingle from 99X, New York and timing it with a stop watch to see just how short it was(this was in analog days). You just can't put a price on a college education.

Management finally traded out for a central air unit. Unfortunately, not enough BTUs for the building's size. Ordered to keep windows closed anyway as it would "eventually cool down." It didn't. Up Side? You no longer hate winter.

To get things rolling, how about your classic "cheap management" story. I'll start things: A small market station I worked at: On payday, we were requested to return the envelope our paychecks came, so they can be used again for future payrolls.
