Anyone who has already done our Viking Escape Room recognize these guys? You don't need any outside knowledge about Vikings to do the puzzles in Odin's Dilemma, however, there are plenty of hidden gems in the puzzles and decor that give a direct nod to famous Viking History!!!! These guys were hand-carved by Master Carver Jeff Iller at the sons of Norway, and are replicas from the famous Oseberg dig. In 1904 there was a famous archaeological excavation in Norway that uncovered the Oseberg ship, an exceptionally preserved 9th-century Viking longship, along with lavish well preserved goods. The gentleman on the right is one of the original artifacts found, and the 2 jokers on the left are a big part of one of our puzzles. If you haven't met them yet, come in and play!

The Evolution of Thor's Hand
People often ask what goes into building an immersive escape room. The answer? A lot of trial, error... and a little bit of magic!
These three photos show the evolution of one of our interactive props. It starts with a rough 3D-printed prototype, and ends with the finished version hidden in Odin's Dilemma.
Inside that hand is RFID (radio frequency ID) technology, allowing it to recognize a specific object and trigger the next part of the adventure. It's one of dozens of custom built effects designed to make the room feel like you're interacting with real Norse magic instead of just solving puzzles!

Someone finally found our Easter Egg!!!!

An Easter egg isn't an actual egg, but a hidden surprise tucked into a game for players to discover. It isn't required to complete the game, but curious adventurers who pay close attention might uncover a secret message or funny reference in our Viking Escape Room, Odin's Dilemma. Our amazing team of enthusiasts from Hawaii were the first ones to notice my little joke hiding in plain sight, earning themselves a free super soft Escape Gallery T-shirt! Good Job! 🙌

One of my favorite Escape Room strategies is simple counting! That first 10 minutes when you enter a room is such a fun chaotic time, the team is running around gathering items, assessing the decor, and figuring out what goes with what.
If you're not sure whether or not a clue goes with a puzzle, do a quick count! 4 shields, 4 colors, 4 wheels, yep!
