AUDITION NOTICE:
CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF
Auditions are open for ALL roles except for Big Daddy which has been pre-cast. The director has received audition requests for most roles but is still specifically seeking actors for the following:
We are seeking Male actors for the following roles:
BRICK POLLITT: Stage Age: Late 20’s to early 40’s:
Former football hero, golden boy, Big Daddy's favorite son — and a man in the process of drinking himself to death rather than face what he knows about himself. Brick is one of the male great roles in American drama: a character who says little but carries everything — desire, grief, guilt, and a searingly complicated relationship with truth and identity. If you've ever wanted to hold a stage in near-silence and then break it open completely, this is that role. Bucket list material for the right actor.
GOOPER POLLITT: Stage Age: Early 30’s to mid-40’s:
The responsible son. The overlooked one. The man who did everything right and still came second his entire life — and who is now, with his father dying, finally making his move. Gooper is not a villain; he's a man with a genuine grievance and the ruthlessness to act on it. A gift of a supporting role for an actor who understands that the most interesting characters are always certain they're right.
Auditions are scheduled July 27 and 28, 6:00 PM at Poulsbo First Lutheran Church Social Hall, 18920 4th Ave NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370 (please use side entrance directly into the Social Hall from the parking lot)
If neither of these dates work, we will arrange an alternate date for you.
Auditions will be based on the reading of Sides, which form the basis of the Audition.
