Seagulls and Sailboats, what could be prettier? I see this scene mostly in the spring and summer months when it’s warm enough for sail boating. But the seagulls are present year round.
The delivery is official. My hand-painted glass ornaments are now available exclusively at Griffin Gallery NW

We are so passionate about our community and also the arts- we love this event that Kitsap Crossroads Rotary has put together- and especially that it includes art from Griffin Gallery NW! We are sad to miss this event (but excited for a belated honeymoon now that the festival is over!) - if you are in town for the Art Heist it’s a great chance to bring home some amazing art- and also spend some time with PFF super fans!

We are excited to bring you a thrilling Sunday matinee at Griffin Gallery NW! Snag your ticket on our website for just $15. This film that was shot over 8 YEARS is one you won't want to miss!
About the film Remnants: Three survivors trek north through a dystopian wasteland in hopes of finding safety and a deeper meaning to life.
Starring E.R. Ruiz (Sons of Anarchy, American Sniper) and Latin American TV stars Tavo Betancourt, Nashla Aguilar, and Inna Moll.
The heavy subject matter of the film is complimented by the innovative action sequences shot by daring cinematographer Alistair Fairbanks (Naked and Afraid). Masterfully edited by Stephen Kaiser-Pendergrast (Line of Descent, Verotika) and produced by the award-winning duo Jack Settipane and Dakota S. Kieras.
We are super stoked that the The Cloaked Realm folks are making the trek up from Portland to be at the festival! Come see an episode of their series during the Animation Block at Griffin Gallery NW on Saturday, October 15th at 3:30 PM for just $10. We will have a Q&A after the screening as well!
Stepping into my wayback machine once again with “Red Stern”. She’s another of my paintings based on ships docked at the Port of Longview from the years I worked there. Didn’t know I used to be a port worker, did you! All I ever wanted to do was be an artist. And now I am, full time that is.
“Red Stern” is one of a series of water reflections paintings I did based on cargo ships in port. She’s done entirely with palette knife so the paint is thick and expressive. She’s available in an embossed gold frame.
18 x 24 original oil on panel. She’s on her way up to Griffin Gallery NW to see if she can find a forever home.

Step into my wayback machine friends, with this giant orange bulk ship docked at the Port of Longview.
For those of you who don’t know, part of my career was spent as a public port worker, learning about ship traffic, photographing cargo, and managing public communications. It was a long time ago but I loved it!
The side benefit is I had so much visual inspiration, especially the big ships and the reflections cast into the water.
This is one of those inspirations translated into paint! Curious. No one thinks of public relations workers as artsy types. But I can tell you that all those years spent working days and painting nights and weekends have left me with boatloads (literally) of inspiration!
And now I’m free to paint all day. It was all worth it!
So here she is, my “Bulk Ship at Anchor”, soon to be cradled into a hand-made floater frame and hung for art lovers to enjoy at Griffin Gallery NW.
Enjoy her reflections and her massive rusty bow. Her anchor is up meaning she’s tied up at port, essentially “anchored” to the dock. And thank you to those dockworkers who tied her up so she could be unloaded!

Happiness is when a favorite painting finds a forever home!
“My Fir Tree,” an original palette knife oil painting in a custom hand-made floater frame by Mike Phillips has been sold by Griffin Gallery NW
Now someone else can gaze upon this quintessential Douglas Fir tree that to me, symbolizes the Pacific Northwest.
And if I’m missing her, all I have to do is look out the window!
Thank you Michael!
