Everyone loves a sequel, especially when it's smaller and adorable.

I've been struggling to create a token to bring to conventions that would be easily identified as me, but I think this one does it. Coming to a con near you, probably.

A close up of my Plague Doctor piece "To Rest". The arms still need some refinement. They are incredibly finicky to position.

It's worth it to rip open that old set for that one specific part you need to build your masterpiece.

"Cathedral Unfinished" is complete. Thank you to everyone who watched the build unfold in my stories over the last few weeks. If you want to see some of the techniques that went into the build, let me know in the comments.

"Clocktower Unfinished"

The second entry in my Framework collection. A blend of architectural styles in monochrome Dark Tan. The more I work in monochrome, the more I am forced to use very odd parts to accomplish simple shapes. There are no gears, very few arches and limited SNOT options between brackets and bricks. It presents an exciting challenge.

The entryway and clock face were massively challenging, and required using the massively expensive Dark Tan plume to represent the hour hand on the clock.

Another huge thanks to my friend for his render work. The rare parts required makes sourcing the parts for each entry in Framework incredibly difficult. Being able to present quality renders before I can build the models makes all the difference.

Framework entry 3 is in the works, but will be a while before it is presented. There are commissions that need to get wrapped up first. You're more than welcome to guess at what the next building will be.

"To Rest"

The result of my sandbox day in studio yesterday. I gave myself the day to work on anything that came to mind, as long as I completed it by the end of the day.

This is very different than my usual work and I find human(oid) figures incredibly challenging. Much respect to those who do this on the regular.

"Cathedral Unfinished"

The story is simple. Creativity is rarely polished. I have a torturous, manic creative process. When I have an idea, I can't sleep or focus on anything else until it's complete. It's unhealthy and amorphous, and I feed on it. I've been struggling to create something that felt unique and honest, and this is where I land.

This is the beginning of "Framework". A collection of monotone models aiming to capture a snapshot of my ugly creative process, mid-flow. I've wanted to use architecture to tell a story, but I wasn't expecting the story to be mine. It is the most honest form of creation I've had in a long time, and it feels very different.

Now, to the details. "Cathedral Unfinished" is inspired by a collection of many different cathedrals, taking much of its core from Cologne and Notre Dame. It relies on incredibly rare parts, including some Bionicle torsos that I purchased entire sets for that single part. I've always enjoyed working in a limited color palette and tan has been an incredible challenge to get right.

We start with these unbelievable renders by my friend , who has been incredibly patient with my picky taste in aesthetics. While I wait for parts to come in, this is the absolute best I could ask for to show off the build. His render work is incredible.

I want to thank my wonderful wife .esposito.16 for the countless hours of talking this idea through. She has helped me form and work through so much of my creative process, and I cannot give her enough credit.

I also want to thank some friends and colleagues for their feedback and thoughts along the way. bricks, as well as many others without Instagram's for me to tag.

Finally, a greatful nod to those who inspire me. The monumental work of .it and have paved the way for high fidelity architecture models in LEGO and opened my mind to what is possible.

This is the beginning of something different. A large and cohesive collection. There is much more coming, and I can't wait to show you all.
