BLOCK OF ART

Because of the FAME's strong connection to the arts and artistic expression, we are reaching out to the community to offer an exciting opportunity to showcase artwork during our production weekend.

We are looking for talented artists who would be interested in displaying their work (paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, etc.) in the theater during performances of FAME, running June 19–21. Selected artwork will be viewed by audiences, and participating artists will also be recognized in our show announcements and digital program. Selected artists will also receive free admission to one of our productions of FAME, if they wish to attend. 

Due to space limitations, only a select number of artists will be chosen for the display. Submissions are due to [email protected] by June 6th.

We would love the opportunity to celebrate and highlight artists in our community alongside this production. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Join Patricia Falco on Thursday night at the reception for her new show. It's called Wanderlust in Focus and features over 40 pieces printed on canvas, metal, wood, acrylic, and archival paper. Come to see some cool art (makes a great Mother's Day present 😉), enjoy some conversation, great munchies, and drinks. Bring some friends too!

The Block of Art Festival has opened! The kid's craft table is set up, and we have art vendors in the Schuylkill County Historical Society, in addition to live music by Bob Alonge.

Join the Block of Art and Allied Artists of Schuylkill County on Saturday, April 25th for the 18th Annual Block of Art Festival, as we celebrate the art that is the heART of America! There will be two galleries of artwork by local artists: the Majestic Theater, where there will also be live performances all day; and the Schuylkill County Historical Society, where there will be art vendors as well as a live performer. There will also be an art scavenger hunt for young artists in the Theater! And did we mention the event is FREE to attend? The Majestic Theater Pottsville will be hosting a variety of live performers during the event this Saturday! Listen, watch, and enjoy as you browse the artwork by our amazing local artists.

We thank Sterling Koch, Theatre Junction PA, Chelsea Smarr, The Majestic Theater crew, and Sherry Marchefsky for taking part in the festival this year.

We have rearranged our layout a bit to make room for a few more vendors. If you are an artist and want to sell your own artwork as a vendor at the Block of Art Festival, please contact us at [email protected]. Spaces for those who are not members of Allied Artists of Schuylkill County are $20, and all vendors will be located inside the Schuylkill County Historical Society.

What: Submit two pieces of art (must be ready to hang)
After registration, artists will be contacted to set up drop off.
There are no registration fees. BOA/AASC does take 20% commission on sales.
