Thank you for this kind and humbling post, it was a privilege to be with all of the impressive and passionate women there.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the BreakfastTable program led by Debrah Dunner! Her expertise in Fine Art, Decorative Arts, and Contemporary American Craft appraisals, as well as her wide range of art-related services including advising, consulting, investments, sales, consignments, collection management, and artist management, made for an incredibly informative and engaging presentation.

We were all impressed by Debrah's involvement in cataloging the personal collection of the artist Sam Gilliam, a highlight of her career!

Her passion for art and extensive knowledge in the field shone through in every aspect of the program, and we feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from someone with such a deep understanding of the art world.

Thank you again to Debrah for leading the program, and to all of the attendees for your participation. We look forward to attending future BreakfastTable programs and continuing our exploration of the fascinating world of art!

The Legacy of Merrywood: The Estate of Alan I and Dianne Kay
March 22 & 23 at 11:00 am

The Legacy of Merrywood tells the story of the titular palatial estate in McLean, Virginia, both a historic structure and the childhood home of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Merrywood was purchased and subsequently renovated and expanded by Alan and Dianne Kay in 1984; the couple filled the home with a sophisticated collection of art and objects, and for eight years hosted the immensely successful annual American Cancer Society Ball at the property.

The sale brings to market a selection of works that the Kays cherished and lived with during their time at Merrywood.

The Legacy of Merrywood is led by Henri-Edmond Cross’s Léda, a vibrant, dynamic 1905 canvas by the French Neo-Impressionist that was once hung on the walls of the historic estate.

’s auction
This fall, Freeman’s will present Modern and Contemporary Craft: Selections from the Robert L. Pfannebecker Collection, over two hundred lots of American craft, amassed by the renowned collector and attorney, Robert “Bob” Pfannebecker.

A lifelong supporter of artists working in a variety of media, Pfannebecker was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and began collecting in the 1960s under the guidance of artist and gallery owner, Don Wright.

Wright’s influence looms large. He designed Pfannebecker’s A-frame home along a hillside; a site which grew to include three additional buildings, functioning as galleries.

Over the years, Bob’s collection grew to include thousands of objects in ceramic, glass, fiber, wood, metal, and synthetic materials. To learn more about this sale, follow the link in the bio!

Stay tuned later this week for when we officially announce the catalog!
