It's time for me to make some online and social media changes.

My oldest (and more popular) website, Aisling dot net, is becoming "Aisling's Studio" (same URL as before, but also reachable via aisling.studio). It will focus on art, but also include lifestyle posts... returning to more blog-like content. After all, in the late 1990s, that's where it started.

Here at Facebook, my personal account seems to be getting lost in... well, I don't know what. Maybe it's just how overwhelmed people are feeling, with the steady assault of crazy news headlines? The daunting challenges of everyday life...? Whatever the answer, I'll keep posting at my personal account, but less often.

Substack seemed like a good idea a year ago, but it never quite got off the ground. While I'll continue to post there, probably monthly, I'll also be steering it in a slightly different direction.

I am looking at Instagram and maybe an art-related YouTube channel, but I need time to evaluate all the options. I'll make that a priority in September, when my husband and I are planning to be back in coastal Maine. (After this summer's travels, we've realized that it's one place where we feel most comfortable.)

For now, a LOT of work is ahead of me... and a lot of art.

For example, as of yesterday, I've resumed the artcard mailings, but just two or three per week. If you want to be on that list, just tell me your mailing address in a message.

Other than that, I'm not sure what's ahead, aside from saying "lots of changes."

I'm excited to see what unfolds, next!

I've posted this week's Substack early, since we'll be on our way to Florida early tomorrow morning. We're hoping to get to Virginia (or close to it) by late afternoon.

And yes, that's a real photo - not changed in any way - from two days ago. It was wonderfully foggy out at the Nubble, and that boat looked almost poetic. I may make it the subject of a painting.

Anyway... after we get to Florida, expect to see some big changes in my Aisling (dot net) art site. That's going to be one of my main focuses, over the next few weeks... when I'm not working on art and books.

... and reinventing, in a way

This is the first step in making this Page more active and - in a way - more authentic. Obviously, my focus (no photography pun intended) is shifting as my wonderful husband and I travel around the U.S.

In the past few months, we've visited every state along the American east coast - from Maine to Florida - and then Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, followed by the state of Texas from Houston to Dallas... and back again to New England!

It's been quite an education, more changes are ahead... and a LOT more art and photography!

Today, I woke up thinking of the word "realignment." I realized the importance of not getting dragged down by news headlines and frustration.

And then, I stumbled onto my friend Sarah's Substack post... and it felt uplifting. Optimistic.

Yesterday, I went looking for even more ridiculous things to photograph. (The "beer on a balcony" one has been getting a lot of attention.)

Here's one that's not super-ridiculous, but it was amusing... a shopping cart at the far end of a parking lot, near BJ's Wholesale store.

I've mostly set up my Fine Art America account, and added just a few photos. This morning - before going out for even more photos - I just HAD to take this picture... and add it to FAA, of course.

This photo shows beer on the balcony of a neighbor, left from last night's late-night party.

(Would anyone actually buy a photo like this? I have no idea. 😆)
