Sad to announce that "The Smallest Room in the House" will not be a part of the 20-21 Season at The Players' Ring in Portsmouth, NH.

After having to cancel our May 2020 production due to COVID-19, we did ask The Ring to consider allowing us to re-schedule in the upcoming season. While we were selected for the 20-21 Season, we did have many questions regarding the theatre's re-opening and what provisions would be made for the safety of our cast, crew, and audiences. We also let The Ring know that there were a few specific time slots that would not work for us to be in production.

Recently we were notified by The Ring that a particular time slot had been selected for us and a few answers to the questions we had were shared as well. Unfortunately, the scheduled dates for our production directly conflicted with a time period we had indicated would not be possible for us to be in production. That, along with still many unanswered questions, concerns for everyone's safety, and the ever unfolding unknowns related to COVID caused us to withdraw from further consideration for the 20-21 Season.

We are deeply disappointed not be able to bring together the awesome group of people who had already committed to bringing this poignant story to life. We DO plan to find a way to produce the show some time in the future ... just not sure when or where right now.

Debb's Productions in conjunction with Gypsy Heart Productions is excited to announce the cast and some of the crew for our upcoming production of The Smallest Room in the House written by Paul Goodwin at The Players' Ring Theatre in Portsmouth, NH. The production runs May 8 - 24 and is being directed by Deb Barry.

Our amazing cast: Tim Young, Michelle Blouin Wright, Raymond Mark, Rebecca Laurion, and Joshua Sanborn.

AUDITIONS! "The Smallest Room in the House" being produced at Players' Ring Theatre in Portsmouth, NH.

I am delighted to be directing "The Smallest Room in the House" (again - 6 years ago we were a Late-night show) at The Players' Ring Theatre in Portsmouth, NH. This production runs May 8 - 24, 2020. It's exciting to be working with playwright Paul Goodwin and co-producing (as Debb's Productions) with his production company, Gypsy Heart Productions.

We are holding AUDITIONS on Tuesday, October 22 from 6 - 9 pm, and Saturday, October 26 from 1 - 5 pm. Information about the show and the auditions is below:

"The Smallest Room in the House" is a love story told over 50 years. It is the story of John and Margie, who we first meet on their honeymoon in 1957, following them all the way up to 2007. We also meet their children, Tommy and Suzy, and their best friend, Don. And the whole play takes place in the family bathroom!

Characters:
John - (ages from 24 to 74) Male. Newly married to Margie. Her husband throughout the play.
Margaret (Margie) - (ages from 20 to 50) Female. Newly married to John. His wife throughout the play.
Don - (ages from 24 to 74) Male. John’s longtime best friend and now neighbor throughout the play.
Susan - (ages from 15 to 45) Female. Daughter of John and Margie.
Tommy – (18) Male. Son of John and Margie.

Email [email protected] to reserve an audition time. Please also request sides for the character(s) for which you will be auditioning.

For the audition: Please prepare a brief monologue. Bring a resume and photo along with a list of any dates/times with conflicts from March 1 – May 1, 2020.

You MUST be available for all rehearsals and shows from May 2 – May 24, 2020.
