We're excited to announce screenwriter and composer Shelby Gaines as this year's special guest Screenplay Judge who will decide our 2026 NHFF Best Screenplay Award!🏆 🎬

Shelby co-wrote 2024 release WILDCAT with Ethan Hawke, who also directed. He most recently wrote THE WEIGHT, which hits theaters September 18 and stars Russell Crowe and Ethan Hawke. Shelby and his brother Laitham scored both films as well.

🌊 Star Island⚓ will once again host our award winner for a one-week residency at the Star Island Family Retreat & Conference Center.

Last week, we had the pleasure of screening NHFF Road Show – Best of the Fest pt.1 at The Rex Theatre in Manchester, NH! 🎬 Hosted by the festival's Director of Cinema Programming, Mark Pruett, this event highlighted a series of short films that were part of New Hampshire Film Festival 2025.

The lineups include live action, documentary, and animation titles that were produced in New Hampshire, throughout the U.S., and across the world.
