WN by Miles Burns reminds us of the lessons we all learn as children, but often forget as adults and the reason why we’re different is because “we all play different parts!”
Recent productions of The UPSIDE of Being DOWN by Miles Burns have left audiences overwhelmed by emotion and brimming with praise. This musical delivers on both message and music. Patrick Dorow Productions, a community-focused, quality-driven production company specializing in Music, Theater, Education, and Design, will be producing the latest run of this musical at The Players’ Ring in Portsmouth, NH in September. Under the direction of Patrick Dorow, the cast will be led by the multi-talented actor/ playwright/vocalist, Miles Burns, and veteran “Belter” and SRT favorite, Ashley Kelley. The remaining cast is peppered with some of the most talented youth in the Seacoast. Jenny Taylor, recently seen in the Full Monty at SRT will be playing “Rosy”, a bit of a snob and likened to a spider by “Ginny”, a lisping Pollyanna played by Sydney Porter. Petite Jenny Battye will become the outgoing character of “Sam”, little sister to her introverted bird loving “Jesse” played by Elle Shaheen. New comer to the stage, Jonah Hackett, will be playing the recently added role of “Molly”, while Jared Lucier plays “Timmy”, an extremely sensitive, shy boy alongside bigger-than-life “Elle”, the camp star played by Zoe Sprankle. Morgan Blanchard will be taking on the challenging role of “Benji”, a boy struggling with Asperser’s disease, while his brother Liam Blanchard plays the role of young camper “Andy” who has been deaf since birth. Pokémon loving “Connor” will be played by Michael Peele while Abbie Scharff strums her guitar in the role of “Sunflower”. Since early July the cast has been meeting at Patrick Dorow Productions Studio to hone their harmonies and rehearse their lines.
