The Electric Cave Recording Studio The Electric Cave is an 21st century studio with a 20th century heart.

As well as Pro Tools, the studio offers 16 track tape and lots of tube gear and vintage mixing console, and most importantly, a cool, laid back working environment. The Electric Cave is a full service recording studio operated by Marc McElroy and Jim Tierney and located in Portsmouth NH. Founded by Jim Tierney in 1999, the studio prides itself in its collection of Analog gear, and cool working vi

The studio is located in a old brick factory building, but the interior has been completely renovated with isolation booths, double walls, a reverb chamber, spacious main tracking room, and a cool loft control room reminiscent of Abbey Road studio 1. Marc McElroy founded "Imaginary Cat" in 1997 in the neighboring 873 Islington St, building. After several location changes, and some collaboration and gear sharing with Jim at the Cave over the years, Marc and Imaginary Cat came to reside at the Cave in 2009. By combining Jim's amazing design and construction, and Marc's gear with their shared experience, the Electric Cave has become the finest recording studio in the area.
