Josh Denton is an Iraq war veteran, an attorney, a former Portsmouth City Councilor and the latest speaker to be announced for Pechakucha Night Portsmouth, Volume 40. Josh chaired Portsmouth's Renewable Energy Committee, authored the City's single-use disposables ordinance for city property, and, after five years of trying to ban plastic shopping bags, banned Styrofoam citywide beginning December 31, 2020. Josh hosts the Climate Hour on WSCA 106.1 Portsmouth Community Radio, rides his bicycle to work in Kittery year-round, and is often seen walking his two standard poodles downtown Portsmouth. Introducing one of our very own—Anne Weidman! Anne is a member of the Pechakucha Portsmouth organizing committee and Director of Community Engagement and Business Development at JSA Inc., a Portsmouth based architecture and design firm. Anne finds herself involved in other things all over the Seacoast and beyond. She is a co-founder of Access Navigators, a nonprofit that helps people impacted by disabilities; she is a trustee at Strawbery Banke Museum and is part of the committee who oversees Labrie Family Skate at Strawbery Banke. During the winter she tries to skate every day, no matter how cold. She’ll be talking about “Building Community” at Pechakucha Night Portsmouth, Volume 40. Don’t miss it!

As Portsmouth photographer, John creates honest, authentic portrait and lifestyle images and powerful architectural images for commercial and editorial clients of all sizes. Centered on themes of craftsmanship, honest work, relationship to the land and human connection, John’s photographs are graphically composed, richly textured, rooted in a sense of place, and reflect his deep reverence for life and belief in our common humanity.
