What an incredible kick-off to our KinderKonzerts for the year! Our PSO Woodwind Quintet made their way to Brunswick and Durham this morning, showing 230 students how melody, rhythm, harmony, and instruments come together to create a tasty Song Soup.

Thank you to Kate Furbish Elementary School and Durham Community School for having us!

At just 19 years old, Mozart had already written a violin concerto that would become one of his most celebrated works.

His Violin Concerto No. 5 showcases the composer’s remarkable ability to combine elegance, energy, humor, and musical invention—all in one unforgettable piece. From its graceful melodies to its lively rhythms and unexpected turns, it's full of the charm and brilliance that have made his music enduringly popular.

Hear it for yourself this October as guest conductor and violinist Alexandre Da Costa appears alongside your PSO!

And we're back! What a thrill to return to Merrill Auditorium to kick off our 102nd season with RESURGAM.

It was a powerful start to the season as our musicians were joined not only by ChoralArt Masterworks, but by the voices of 100 young singers, including the PSO Children's Chorus, for the premiere of the fully orchestrated version of FIRE!

We couldn't have imagined a better start to the season. Thank you to everyone who braved yesterday's wind and rain to join us! Tickets are still available for Tuesday evening's performance—we hope to see you there.
