Yesterday marked the last Explorers' lesson of the year and the final PSO educational program for the 2025-26 school year! It's been an incredible year of working with educators to bring music to students across Maine. Between Explorers lessons, KinderKonzerts, the PSO Children's Chorus, the Crewe Youth Concert, and extended learning opportunities, we've held over 450 educational events that reached more than 25,000 students and educators since October.

None of these programs would be possible without the support of our generous sponsors and donors. Consider a gift to help us continue bringing the power of music to students across the state: https://portsym.org/support

Last night, our 101st mainstage season came to a close at Merrill Auditorium. This season has been filled with moments that reminded us of the power of music to help us connect and create community. From exceptional performances by artists Randall Goosby, Firefly, and the PSO's own Charles Dimmick and Brent Selby, and musical trips into Europe and a galaxy far, far away, it was filled with exceptional moments both on stage and throughout the state of Maine.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you, our audience, for not only being a part of it, but for helping make it all possible. We hope to see you out in Maine for our Chamber Brass Quintet performances in June, or back at Merrill for our 102nd season.

What a night! Thanks to the generous support of attendees, last night's annual fundraiser, Forte, helped raise over $100,000. In addition to free KinderKonzerts for Portland Public Schools, this supports our talented musicians, inspirational concerts, and accessible musical opportunities for community members, like our chamber concerts, our Children’s Chorus, and our Discovery Instrument Petting Zoos. We are deeply grateful.

There are still more opportunities to support our mission and fund programs through the Forte online auction! Place your bid on incredible experiences, gift certificates to some of our favorite local places, and more, now through May 20th. View items and bid: https://portsym.org/silent-auction

And a special thank you to this year's Community Sponsors, Unum and Tranzon, and Celebratory Sponsors, Gnome and Harmon's, for their support.
