Oregon Mahler Festival

The 2025 Oregon Mahler Festival concert last night went great! Mahler 4 was a delight and Suk's symphonic poem "Prague" was a triumphant ending to a rewarding concert.

Thanks to al the musicians for their efforts and superb playing. Special kudos go to our soprano soloist Isabella Kerr, who sang divinely. And we thank everyone who attended, and everyone who has donated, for helping make Mahlerfest a success.

"The only difficulty in conducting Mahler is durability, the ability to last, a simple physical problem of maintaining the intensity, concentration and physical energy that is required. . .emotional energy. . . , tension, nervous energy, which is required to take a large Mahler piece from beginning to end.
