Here's one of my paintings at Brassworks Gallery for their Conjuncture show along with how it all happened.

This one started out as a Restaurant Rot doodle for Side Street Cafe up in Bar Harbor, Maine back in 2023. Just a quick bit of craziness off the top of my head while we sat at the bar and waited for our food. Kinda weird little dude, but I thought he had potential. That drawing is the first one in the video.

I cleaned up some of the ideas, kept some of the others, and revisited him for Day 19 of Rotty Halloween that October. Drawn and painted with Higgins Inks on mixed media paper. That's the second drawing in the video.

Still seeing potential, I decided he deserved full spa treatment as a painting. That's the third image in the video, and the painting that's currently hanging out at Brassworks!

So I have to do some catch-up on posting for a few things I missed while I was doing the Oddities show over the weekend—and I’ll do that—but first, look at this little guy! I’m jumping a bit ahead, but I finally got back to painting today and I had to show you!

This one is heading to Cactus Gallery for and my interpretation of card 25 El Borracho (The Drunk). The show will open online July 18, but I’m sure you’ll be able to email [email protected] for collector pre-sale. She’s very accommodating that way ☺️.
