The name “Anjuna” was inspired by an experience I had a few years ago while backpacking through Goa, a region in India known for its pristine beaches along the Arabian Sea. While staying in Arambol, I caught wind of a weekly hippie flea market that took place each Wednesday in Anjuna, a city 13 miles south. A month into my time in India and eager to try anything new, I decided to rent a moped scoo

ter for my trip down to Anjuna, even though taking a taxi would have been quicker and cost about the same. So, on Wednesday I figured out how to rent and operate a scooter, as well as adapt to the rules-of-the-road in India. Driving down the coast to Anjuna, easing between the traffic of small towns and empty patches of highway, was a very powerful experience; I walked away with a new perspective on and confidence in taking risks. In April of 2015, I made the decision to leave a full-time job in order to devote my time and energy to blending my career and passion: recording and mixing music. It was a career move I’d been working towards for over a decade, and what I learned during my day-trip to Anjuna played a major role in that leap. When it came time to pick a name for my studio, the choice felt obvious.

Re-amping some clav while mixing the next album. Loving this Magnatone tube amp, with a m160 on it, then running into the Delta preamp.

Flipping the “link” switch in the middle doesn’t turn it into stereo mode, it mults the output from channel one into the input of channel two. So you still get a clean signal from channel one, and can drive channel two and blend it in as much or as little as you want. It’s come in handy so many times.

So stoked for you all to hear this album! It’s an absolute work of art 🔥

PS the clav part was either played by or , we recorded this five years ago and I can’t remember who was on clav and who was on B3 🤦🏼‍♂️

Working on an EP with the multi-talented , and had an awesome time recording guitar with and keys with . So incredibly stoked to dive into mixing this. Had additional studio support and photography from 👊🏼

I’m so incredibly excited to announce the next Anjuna Engineer Workshop, featuring the one and only !

Come spend the weekend with myself, Haley, and her band while we bring a song to life! We will spend the first day covering how to record the rhythm section, overdubs, and vocals. Then we will spend the second day setting up a mix and mixing the day away!

There are both in-person and streaming spots available! These engineer workshops are always beautiful experiences, make sure you lock down your spot!

The workshop will be October 25th-26th.
