Erin's Art Car

Erin's Art Car The Gypsy Crib's life officially began in 2006, with the adhesion of plastic rhinestones and the pinning of tassel.

Inspired by the Senegalese taxis she rode in earlier that year, the Gypsy Crib's driver began enhancing the interior of her Subaru Impreza. Inspired by Senegalese taxis in Dakar in early 2006, Erin came back to her plain looking 2005 black Subaru determined to spruce it up. Dubbed The Gypsy Crib in a moment of inspiration, this car is very entertaining to ride in, but what Erin never expected was

how people would connect to it. Erin has had people run to hand her stickers at red lights, slip stickers and notes anonymously under the windshield wiper while parked somewhere, roll down their windows and converse at stop lights, even gesture while speeding down the highway. What Erin has learned from her car is that people want to connect, they just need an excuse. Erin posts photos of interior renovations and comments from passers-by... Catch all the action here!
