Race 4 of short track and the last race of Monday pir tonight. We really need strong turnouts for these as right now it is going to be hard to say they will be back. Turnout is not looking good again. If we get the 100 riders for road tonight we will look into adding a few races in July.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of a past PIR champion, drag racer Shane Molinari. Always a PIR Patriot even when he went on to quicker and faster cars, he still spoke fondly of his time racing here. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. 🙏

Portland International Raceway Dragstrip

The Pro Mod world lost one of its own this weekend. Shane Molinari, a West Coast fixture and one of the most beloved figures in the doorslammer pits, died following a crash at Sonoma Raceway. He was 59. For the better part of two decades, the Battle Ground, Washington, racer was a constant out West, the guy everybody knew and nobody had a bad word for, as quick with a laugh in the pits as he was hard to beat on race day. He broke through on the national stage in 2017, wheeling his turbocharged '68 Firebird to his first NHRA Pro Mod victory at Norwalk with a 5.779 at 257 mph, but the wins were only ever part of the story. Shane did it the hard way, loved every minute of it, and brought people with him along the way. All in, all heart, grateful for the ride. Rest easy, racer.

Want to ride around Portland International Raceway in a race car or exotic car? Join us this weekend, Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14 for a great weekend of racing!

At lunchtime both days there will be race car and exotic car rides around PIR which benefit the Community Transitional School. As a passenger, you'll get to experience a couple of speedy laps around the iconic Portland International Raceway while also helping out a worthy charity.

Admission to the event is free and rides start at $20.

Whether you’re racing for points or showing off your ride, Wednesday’s have something for every automotive enthusiast.

**ET Drags:
Race the 1/8-mile for points and a chance at a track championship. From Juniors to Super Pro, expect tight competition and side-by-side racing under the lights.

⏰ Gates open at 4 PM
🏁 First timed runs around 5 PM
⚡ Eliminations begin around 7 PM

💰 Race entry:
$35–$60, depending on class

Bring your classic car, truck, motorcycle, Euro, JDM, exotic, or anything you love. Enjoy great vehicles, food, drag racing, and a family-friendly atmosphere.
