🎬 Join us for an evening of independent film, storytelling, and conversation at Milagro.

This special film shorts screening features the work of three remarkable filmmakers and recipients of the Milagro Artist Fund, a program dedicated to supporting and uplifting Latine artists in our community.

✨ Hostile Work Environment — Directed by Dawn Jones Redstone
✨ MORA — Directed by Ricardo & Veronica Alvarado
✨ Dreamland — Directed by Tatiana Maria Corbitt

Through horror, drama, magical realism, and deeply personal storytelling, these films explore identity, labor, memory, dreams, and belonging while centering voices and perspectives too often left out of the frame.

Following the screening, audiences will have the opportunity to engage with the artists and learn more about their creative processes, inspirations, and work.

You're invited to a free event in the Milagro Theatre this Saturday, May 23 from 2:00-4:00 PM.

Over the last 16 months federal policy and actions in the United States have resulted in increased xenophobia and the normalization of intolerance, they have set parts of our community against each other. They have caused many to forego health care, hold their children from school, and keep silent when mistreated by authorities or individuals within their own communities.

A US-based non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in Colombia, Todos Somos is a non-profit organization with a mission to document the stories and testimonies of migrants and refugees fleeing Venezuela. Having run programs in Colombia since 2020, they have identified a need to expand their work to Oregon.

ÂżQuĂŠ Pasa Venezuela y QuĂŠ Pasa OregĂłn? is an afternoon of readings and discussion where Todos Somos will share collected testimonies and will reflect on how they are listening to and documenting the lives of those most affected by changes in our nation's national and international policy and actions.

Attendees will hear collected testimonies, learn about current needs in both Colombia and in Oregon, and review how we can document this moment in history - both to share with others ‘in real time’ and to archive for future scholars. Todos Somos also will discuss new potential partnerships for local and international programs.

Light refreshments and snacks provided for all attendees.
