----Akira Kurosawa's Raygun---
Over his life, Ray has become a collector of relationships. He has befriended Kings and Queens, Heads of State and Dictators, actors artists and criminals as well as many every day people. Over the last 100 years Ray has favored making transporter devices as gifts for those people he found himself drawn to. These devices have the appearance of a “gun” but are essentially single-use transporters. The operator would point the device at a target and pulling the trigger, instantly transport the target to a location approximately 150 miles away and to the left.
The Ray-guns are designed specifically for each owner and are customarily gifted in a box with instructions to “please return after use along with a report of the discharge incident”. Ray has an industrial building in inner SE Portland where he stores hundreds of these spent transporters, each with a tag identifying the name of someone notable and sometimes obscure, at least to me anyway.
The Rayguns of Ray Horneaux
artist: Brian Elliot (excerpt from the origin story by Brian) One of the first concept shows I curated probably back in 2008. Brian gifted me Akira's raygun. It never had a case until last week when Brian showed up on my porch with it.
Now the story is complete.
