Find someone who looks at you the way we look at ❤️😌

But seriously, we had such a great time this last weekend! James was the sweetest guest at the shop and it seemed like you all loved hanging with him as much as we did. Who knows, we may be seeing more of him here in Portland soon! 👀🐑

No more loosing your stitch markers in the couch cushions!! These babies are just too special 😌 Ever since making the charm for last year, we’ve been playing with the idea of Ritual Dyes stitch markers and keychains, and they’ve finally arrived!

There’s a few different sets of stitch markers, each with their own unique charm - the RD hand, flower, or crystal. These were designed in-house and include four stitch markers: three fixed and one on a bulb pin. We made this set to especially suit a raglan project but mix and match however you like!

The keychain features our little flowers, hand, and letter charms that spell out ritual. Just perfect for a cute addition to your project bag!

These are all available now in the shop and online :)

We have one last thing for the opening party! The teensy little totes caught our eye so long ago and we’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to bring them into the shop. The design on the front of the tote, drawn by my daughter Lilac, shows off our new storefront perfectly

The doors to our new home are officially open! We very sneakily opened on Belmont a few days ago and have been loving our new neighborhood already. To celebrate, we’re throwing a party on Saturday June 6th from 4-7pm and inviting all of you!! We’ve even dyed up a special new colorway to commemorate the move :)

Belmont is a mauve-y pink with darker speckles throughout. We’ve dyed it up on Sparkle Maiden and Sparkle DK and even have made some sparkle sock minis!! This yarn is a 75% superwash Merino wool with 20% nylon and 5% silver Stellina sparkle for that extra gleam ✨Belmont will be available in store on Saturday and is available now for pre-order online!

This baby has been just WAITING behind the scenes! Our Moon Needle Case has been so well loved, we decided it was about time for a new colorway. Of course it had to be extra special! This version of the Moon Needle Case features pink and maroon colorblocked canvas and all the inner organization that we know and love.

Stina and Rachael brought theirs home early and has done a bit of customization! The canvas fabric we use to make the needle cases is the perfect foundation for any DIY projects or adornments. Alex of has embroidered many Moon Needle Cases and Knitter’s Backpacks, so if you’re stoping by the Opening Party, it’s a perfect time to get your new needle case chainstitched!

It’s time for a little foraging club reveal! May’s color was Eastern Fox Squirrel, inspired by our little friends here in the US. They’re the most common tree squirrel found in Portland and are not actually native to the state. Fox Squirrels were introduced from the Eastern US but you can find these little guys everywhere in the PNW. They’re often scampering across sidewalks and roofs, hanging out in attics, and have generally proliferated our neighborhoods. Eastern Fox Squirrels are invasive in the west and have been pushing out our native species, like the Western Grey, and are adversely affecting populations of other critters in the area. Who knew such a cute little thing could have that big of an impact!

Extras for this color are on our website now for all you Foraging Club members! You can join our Foraging Club on our website and can choose between four different bases: Maiden, Priestess, Fae, and Maven.

Now that we’re getting all settled into our new space, it’s time to start chatting about all the classes we have planned for the !! When we had come to the shop during RCYC this year we knew we wanted to work with them again soon. Luckily, they’ll be back later this month on teach a sequining workshop! This event is on June 27th, 10am-12pm at 3300 SE Belmont.

Join local q***r artist Sam Pletcher for a Sequin 101 workshop! You’ll learn how to hand sew sequins and create your own sequin artwork to take home. Materials are provided so there’s no need to bring supplies, but, if you have fabric or sequins from home that you would like to use for the project, feel free to take them with you to the workshop! All attendees will walk away with their sequin artwork (with their chosen motifs) in a wooden embroidery hoop. Sewing skills are not necessary to participate; we will only be completing basic stitching in this workshop and learning how to do so will be covered. The last 15 minutes will be reserved for sharing what we made during the workshop.

Registration is available now on our website!

🌱 PERIDOT & HICKORY 🤎

The palette we’ve created for our non-superwash bases has been so true to Ritual Dyes for years. They represent us as a brand and as makers - all of our favorite shades that mix and match perfectly. However, recently, there’s been a little gap, and we’ve filled it with some brand new colorways. Say hello to Peridot and Hickory!

✽ PERIDOT is a grassy, mossy green shade that is just what we’ve been wanting. It’s the perfect bright yet still earthy shade and pairs perfectly with our other colorways.

✽ HICKORY is the ideal deep chocolatey brown. It’s a neutral dark shade, maybe leaning slightly warm, and provides a great contrast to our lighter colors.

We’ve also added Forget Me Not, Chromite, Smoke, and Dune to the Marona lineup! Keep an eye out for even more new shades coming up soon - we’ve been having a bit too much fun in the new dye studio!
