A glimpse….of it all coming together.

Porcelain in the afternoon light as the exhibition “A Year and A Day” is closer to full form.

Emerson wrote this quote I think of often in my creative life.
“In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts; they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty.”
The concept of this exhibition felt so big, the work required, the vision to bring it to completion, all the unknowns and knowns of what it would take to get here.
This quote inspires me and haunts me, but this time around I feel incredibly grateful that this vision gave me the opportunity to say yes.

This exhibition explores ideas of labor through the lens of menstruation. Connecting ideas of the daily production and effort of the working class to the often invisible experience of a body experiencing a cycle more connected to the moon than the sun.
