Thank you so much, Portland! Here are all the pieces that went to there new homes.🌻It was so fun meeting and chatting with you all. I met a guy who flew his dog from France to Portland so they can roadtrip and live here for 4 months out of the year—how cool is that?! (So maybe my card is going to France?) And the sweetest and cutest baby ever! 🦊

Let me tell you about the first pic. This is the first piece that I incorporated my Indonesian heritage with. Our traditional art is called batik, a wax relief usually done on fabric. Most often, it’s hand drawn with wax but a metal stamp can also be used with wax to create designs before the dyeing process. The design on my piece came from one of the batik stamps originating from the island of Java. It’s not a copy as I freehand drew it and added a few things but it makes me feel closer to my Indonesian heritage and I’m super happy it went home with someone. I titled it “Clove” for the stamp design—a powerful ingredient we use in many parts of our culture. This piece also includes handmade paper, acrylics, and watercolor.

What a RAD group of people that make up ! 🎏Here are all the frames that went to their new homes yesterday. I got to taste some of the craft beers that were the result of all the amazing collabs between Portland and Japanese breweries. 🍺 There were also Sumo wrestling and Kendo demos. Shoutout to for putting on such a fun event!
