Our June show features Jeannine Bamberg as our 3-Dimensional Artist.….and instructor.

"I transform books, destined for the landfill, into beautiful decorative pieces. There are a number of techniques including MMF (measure, mark, & fold), MMCF (measure, mark, cut, & fold), Fore Edge. The MMF technique is easiest where you simply place two marks on the edges of each leaf and fold at 90 degrees at each mark. The MMCF technique involves many marks and cuts per leaf and folding down every other tab. The Fore Edge technique takes an expanded photo and slices it into strips with each strip glued on the edge of each leaf. How to create the Fore Edge pattern of the "Panda in a Glass" will be taught on Saturday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. (See class schedule here: https://villagegalleryarts.org/event/fore-edge-book-art-jeannine-bamberg/

We Welcome Four New Members! Pictured are Cecilia and Linda.
Cecilia Roch discovered us when visiting the thrift store next door. She is retired but used to have an antique store and painted furniture. She used to live in Montana. She continues to paint furniture and she makes the most adorable felted animals. She also has taught classes, volunteered for Big Brother/ Big Sister, and has much event, display, and sales experience.

Linda Stone is a customer who lives in the neighborhood. She is retired. She volunteers with differently abled individuals and is excited to join our art community. She is a ceramicist and has been creating work for around 30 years.

Melinda Paterson is a previous member. She is a fiber artist and also makes jewelry and does encaustic painting. She showed me some amazing felt work including some adorable fairies she makes that have to be seen. She has taught classes in making miniatures and dolls. When we chatted her current project has been teaching her grand kids to sew!

Pam Schmieding discovered our gallery as a curious visitor. She is a retired middle school teacher and grandmother. She joined VGA wanting to be part of an art community. She loves conversing with fellow art lovers so look for her at the Art Chats. Pam is a jewelry designer. She has also taught calligraphy. She is good at advertising and layout.

Garineh Baghdasarian is our Featured Artist for
2 Dimensional Work in our upcoming June Show.

"I create art that is a representation of what I see, feel, and believe. It shows my inner world as a response to my outer world. It represents my struggles, my blessings, and my hopes. How I communicate in my artwork is with the use of symbolism, colors, patterns and movement.

This specific collection of work that I am showcasing as the featured artist of the month, is a reflection of the visual experiences of reality combined with the energetic and emotional experience of reality. The concept of experiencing the tangible world through our sight and physical body is shown through representative images, like the eye and flowers. The concept of experiencing our inner world through our heart and spirit is shown through abstract images, like different combinations and blending of colors, and the sharpness or softness of lines and organic shapes."
