*Tomorrow night!* San Miguel Fraser is redefining folk music with their dynamic fusion of Castilian and Celtic traditions. The duo, featuring María San Miguel—an Oviedo Conservatory graduate deeply rooted in the vibrant music of Castile—and Galen Fraser—a Berklee College of Music alumnus and son of the legendary fiddler Alasdair Fraser, blends heartfelt vocals, intricate string arrangements, and the lively charm of the cittern. Their music celebrates the shared spirit of their homelands while embracing the beauty of innovation.

The band has captivated listeners at prestigious festivals and venues, including Celtic Connections, Festival Internacional de Ortigueira, Sisters Folk Fest, KVMR Celtic Festival, and Miguel Delibes Auditorium. Whether performing at intimate gatherings or grand stages, they bring a heartfelt connection and a celebratory spirit to every performance.

Just like on the TV show Dancing with the Stars, six Portland celebrities will be taking the stage in a live ballroom dancing competition!

From local business owners, to professional athletes and influencers, these celebrities are working hard with their professional dance partners to create a routine that will impress both the judges and the audience. Each celebrity contestant is competing on behalf of a charity they personally chose, and donations raised throughout the evening will go directly to those causes. Local judges will be weighing in, and the audience gets to vote for a winner in real time! Alongside the competition, this event also features a breathtaking showcase by the Shall We Dance professional dancers.

This is a night for the community, by the community, and one that you don’t want to miss!

Glen Hansard, the Irish songwriter, poet, storyteller and bard, was a musician’s musician. In the wake of his untimely passing on July 29th, 2026 from a motorcycle accident, Glen’s positive impact was seen in the outpouring of grief across the world. Portland friends and fans are gathering for a celebration of life and songs for Glen Hansard with a night of song and poetry from some of Portland’s favorite local songwriters at the Alberta Rose Theatre.

Featured performers include:
The Druthers
Olivia Awbrey
Dan Klee
Idea The Artist
Rebecca McDade
Margaret Wehr
Nathan James Earle
Chasing Ebenezer
Arran Fagan
Jacob Miller
and more!

Whether you’re new to Glen’s incredible catalogue, familiar with deep cuts from The Frames, or want to sing Falling Slowly in camaraderie with fellow fans, the evening will pay tribute to the arc of Glen’s work from beginning to end. Please join us to celebrate the long-lasting music of one of Ireland’s (and Portland’s) most well-loved musicians.
