Hello! Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for our interim class! If you have graduated another school and want to get into our 201, consider signing up as we only allow students in our 201 who have either graduated our 101 class, or been performing consistently for over a year. https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/5304837

This three week class is intended to help you get up to date with our teaching style and method. As we are traditionally a classic burlesque school, this class will go over the methods, costumes and movements of classic burlesque.

This class is also a great refresher if it has been a while since your last 101 class. This class does not include a performance recital at the end. If you want the full experience of our beginner course, we recommend taking our 101 class.

We are thrilled to be bringing our Burlesque 101 series back this year. Starting next SUNDAY Jan 9th, we are welcoming you to start your dance journey. https://www.brownpapertickets.com/user/getcode/1252330

Our introduction to burlesque is suited for every size, gender, and ability. Taught by Holly Dai and Kissy LaMay, this classes teaches the basics of burlesque during a six week course. This class focuses on polished classic burlesque and we incorporate movement into each class to create your own burlesque routine! The class includes six group lessons and a private lessons followed by a public showcase. After graduation there is a student gathering soiree, a wonderful opportunity to continue the connection with your community of burgeoning burlesque starlets.

NEW COVID REQUIREMENTS:

As we value the safety of our teachers and students, if you register for a class, you agree to our terms regarding our covid requirements. You must provide proof of full vaccination prior to class. We recognize that there are also limitations to who may be able to get the vaccine. If you are unvaccinated, a negative test within 72hrs will be required to be presented to the teacher EVERY class PRIOR to entry of the class for the day. Our teachers will provide transparency to our students that we also take this seriously and are vaccinated. We will be practicing fully masked.

I would love for you to join me in congratulating Kissy LaMay, former graduate of All that Glitters Burlesque Academy and protege of Holly Dai.

Kissy LaMay joins the academy again, but this time as professor, teaming up with headmistress Holly Dai, to teach our future burlesque 101 class series.

Kissy LaMay was born for the stage. After a lifetime of acting, dancing, and singing lessons, she paraded into burlesque 4 years ago and never looked back. She has performed in festivals across the country and can regularly be found onstage in Portland, Oregon where she lives and works. She is 1/3rd of the Bees Knees R***e, a burlesque troupe known for keeping it classically weird with their vintage-inspired dance routines. In addition to performing, Kissy is also the stage manager for the Oregon Burlesque Festival and for Portland's long-running classic burlesque show, Papermoon Cabaret. Whether she's picking up panties or dropping them herself, Kissy's bubbly charm will enchant you!
