Stephanie Chefas Projects is the labor of love from its owner, Stephanie Chefas, who has been independently curating art exhibits for nearly a decade in Los Angeles and San Francisco, among others. Now calling Portland home, Chefas retains an eye for cutting-edge and often challenging work that demands attention. Highlighting a diverse blend of contemporary artists from around the world, the gallery features monthly exhibitions with an emphasis on cultivating new talent and encouraging risk and evolution among established visionaries. With endeavors like HEATWAVE and SELFIE, Chefas also maintains her unique ability to coordinate group shows with distinct concepts that allow artists plenty of breathing room to interpret and explore. Stephanie Chefas Projects is the result of both passion and dedication as well as commitment toward sharing the best in contemporary art with enthusiasts and collectors alike.

An iridescent dream for at Chefas Projects ✨

Working with hard edges and meticulously calibrated color transitions, Adams constructs paintings that appear at once exacting and elusive. Color becomes both subject and structure: gradients shift across the surface with a measured sense of movement, while simplified compositions heighten the perceptual effects of scale, saturation, and transition.

Another piece from our current exhibition, , that we keep gravitating toward 👀

Fixed State is not your traditional wall sculpture. Designed to be displayed on the wall or stand upright on a flat surface, the work appears to ooze, pool, drip, and swell. Its surface suggests viscosity, while its form remains resolutely sculptural - creating an intriguing tension between solidity and liquidity.

It feels less like an object that has been made than an organism in the midst of becoming: alien, tactile, and strangely familiar.

In Magma, Bobby Adams, works with hard edges and meticulously calibrated color transitions, creating a painting that feels both exacting and elusive.

High Alert feels less like an object that has been made than an organism in the midst of becoming - alien, tactile, and strangely familiar. Its forms seem to hover between the organic and the otherworldly, inviting a closer look.

'Overreaction' by Dan Lam () for that's currently on view through October 17th at Chefas Projects. Foam, acrylic, resin, polymer, 6.25 × 9 × 6.25 inches.

Bringing together more than twenty new works, the exhibition introduces a heightened metallic sensibility to Lam’s singular sculptural language, with surfaces that suggest chrome, liquid metal, and something less readily identifiable-objects caught somewhere between matter and mutation.
