Everyone's favorite Jane Pagliarulo will be at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, OR - Sunday, August 16, 1–3 p.m for a printmaking demo and artist talk. Meet the Master - see the process!

Jane will demonstrate the printing of a woodcut and Photopolymer Intaglio (Solarplate Etching!). An incredibly fast and versatile way of making non-toxic prints with hand-drawn or digital artwork. She will add monoprint techniques with Akua inks, exploring the use of multiple plates and Chine Collé to create a one-of-a-kind print.

Demo runs 1–2 p.m., artist talk follows 2–3 p.m.
Come for one, stay for both!

About the Artist:
Jane Pagliarulo has been a gorge dweller on and off since 1997. She co-founded a printmaking workshop in Hood River in the Alpine hut, and worked as an artist in residence. In 2007 she moved the press to Portland and started Atelier Meridian, a collaborative membership printmaking studio. As master printer, Jane teaches printmaking workshops in monotype, etching, woodcut and collagraph, and performs contract printing of editions. She exhibits nationally and is represented in Portland by Print Arts Northwest.

Welcome New Member Larry Huhn!
A lifelong photographer practicing alternative/historical printing methods in Bend, Oregon. is currently focusing on printing using the Platinum/Palladium and the Polymer Photogravure processes.

For those unfamiliar: Platinum/Palladium prints are made by mixing light-sensitive ferric oxalate with platinum and palladium salts, which are then brushed onto premium archival paper, and exposed to UV light under a negative. No darkroom required - just exquisite tones and exceptional archival quality.

The Polymer Photogravure process is the same as Solarplate printing! (Solarplate is just the name-brand of a photopolymer plate). A steel backed polymer coated plate is exposed to ultraviolet light with a positive transparency set on top. The exposed plate is developed in water then dried and hardened. The completed plate is inked and passed through an etching press. See more of Larry's beautiful atmospheric work at: www.lhuhnphotography.com/

Welcome New Artist Member Neal McCormick!
hails from Colorado and put down roots in Oregon after attending PNCA in Portland in 2015. Neal continued to pursue printmaking after college and became a member of Flight 64 Studio in 2023, where he still works today.
The aesthetics of traditional print media like woodcuts, stone lithography, and copper plate etching became the perfect vehicle for exploring the surreal imagery of his internal world.
