Thank you, Ronni Lacroute, for coming to see The Dark Stuff and giving us an amazing review!

“Last night I enjoyed a terrific and engrossing production of THE DARK STUFF by Mikki Gillette at Twilight Theatre Company meticulously directed by Asae Dean. An intimate two-character play about a predatory professor and a vulnerable young poet who is his student, this show is remarkable for its beautiful writing, complex and nuanced characters, very expressive set, and mix of threatening and humorous elements. The play is full of poetry from an academic point of view, and all of the poetry is sung to beautiful music by Ash, yet the poetry itself contains dangerous references. I thought the two actors did a superb job of conveying the complexity of the two characters, and I really admired the way Professor Bodkin diverted the conversation constantly from academic questions to offers of fancy foods, caramels and absinthe or port w**e as he attempted to seduce the student. Don't misunderstand me--I don't approve of such behavior! In fact, it is cringeworthy, but I thought it was so well portrayed. Go see this show before it closes!”

RENT the Musical

AUDITION DATES
Saturday, Aug 29 12pm - 4pm and Monday, Aug 31 7pm - 9pm
Callbacks on Sept 1 if necessary
Please sign up for a six minute slot and come prepared with no more than 32 bars of a song in the style of the show (Think Rock / Pop / moody / angsty).

Unfortunately, an accompanist will not be available. If you can bring a blue-tooth speaker and a recording of your track, that would be great. Don't have a blue tooth? We do! Play guitar? Bring it!

Rehearsals start on Oct 3 and are only Saturdays for the first month. Then they are typically scheduled for Mon - Thurs evenings and Saturday afternoons.
