In the gallery AND their studio this Friday: St Johns Clay Collective! SJCC is a creative space for the clay art community to learn, practice and grow! Classes, workshops, memberships and drop in studio for adults and children. Visit them in the gallery or their studios in the courtyard, 108/110, to learn about the programs they offer.

Visit moving artist Isaka Shamsud-Din in Studio 215 tonight from 5-9. Isaka is a working lifelong artist/educator/activist and retired art professor who concentrates on relating the African American experience with contemporary and historical perspectives. Says Isaka, "I want my art to offer adventure and discovery to the viewer."

Returning to our Gallery tonight: Infinite Creature Designs! Says Sara, "My work is a form of digital art know as fractals: mathematical and natural forms that exhibit what's known as self-similarity. Using a computer I render mathematical formulas into art of infinite depth and detail. With these images I create beautifully matted prints, greeting cards, magnets & other gift items." Vee of Veschist Art will be back in our Gallery this Friday! Vee is a local artist, biologist, dog walker, and a mycology enthusiast. Most of their work is inspired by the outdoors, as well as some nerdy pop-culture, and some is even made with what they find in the woods! Most, if not all of their paintings are done in watercolor and then touched up digitally to bring the art onto items such as stickers and bags. Other mediums they dabble in are resin, ceramics/ polymer clay, jewelry and textiles. Come visit Vee this Friday from 5-9 in our Gallery!

In the Gallery tonight! Studio Catawampus is the art of Rebecca Flaum, a Portland based artist who specializes in quirky imaginative realism and emotive fantasy art. She uses art to create a window into a fantastical universe peopled with strange and mystical beasts and with just a touch of humor and absurdity in the air. When not exploring arcane worlds, she can usually be found exploring this one or puttering around in her North Portland home where she lives with a person, a snake, and a comically large cat.

Sienna draws entirely with numbers and equations by hand, using data from her own research. Each image is drawn with its own scientific story. She is self taught in art and science and thinks they're both improved by the other.

At her studio you are invited to see behind the scenes of original work in progress, as well as see how team SAS makes the prints and shirts available every weekend at the Portland Saturday Market. Visit her tonight from 5-9!

Gary Houston is a graphic designer and illustrator in Portland, Oregon making concert posters under the moniker of Voodoo Catbox. With over 40 years of experience designing & printing posters for local venues and touring bands, he is currently known for for his work for the Oregon Waterfront Bluegrass Festival. Gary works in a variety of mediums, including hand-drawn ink or scratchboard illustrations, and hand-cut rubylith to create unique limited edition screen print posters. Visit him in Studio 211!

Teresa Flowers is an internationally recognized photographer/artist based in Portland, Oregon. Her artwork has been published in Nakid Magazine, Shots Fine Art Photography Magazine, Photo District News, and Black and White Magazine. She was presented the prestigious Fine Art Photographer of the Year Award at The International Photo Awards, as well as the People's Choice Award. She also received the Mayor's Award in Visual Art. Teresa’s work is exhibited internationally.
