Our philosophy is one of inclusion and participation. Everyone is welcome to join us as a dancer, and to contribute to the creation of dance as a volunteer. We encourage people of all ages and abilities to come experience our weekly ecstatic dance offerings. Hope to see you soon at dance!

We reclaim the ancient knowing that lives within our bodies and bones.�We remember that we belong - to the Earth, to our ancestors, and to this place. We move together to restore our right to take up space, to thrive, and to be fully alive. Through rhythm, breath, and movement, we return home to ourselves and to one another.

~ Replenishing the Core ~

As we settle more deeply into fall and flora's outward growth begins to slow, our bodies may respond in kind. What is here to be noticed? Taking a tip from our tree friends, let's allow and attune with a drawing in of our energy... not completely, but just enough so that the 'trunk' of our being, our core is nourished. Vitality naturally ebbs and flows, and in our dance we will ebb & flow as well.. paying special attention to our inner core and the experience of moving from a replenished capacity... rather than depletion. Let's journey into and restore the well together!

~ Emerging Autumn ~

Autumn doesn’t arrive all at once. The light changes, the air shifts, our bodies feel the season before we’ve necessarily named it. We’ll explore that slow turning through movement, sensation, rhythm, and the subtle ways we respond to change. What is already beginning to soften, shift, or emerge? We’ll follow those sensations into dance and see what happens when we let the body move with the season.

~ Get Down. Get Up! ~

Inevitably in dance (as in life) we may trip, get bumped, or fall. But what if the downs and the ups were equal parts of the grand play of it all? Rather than fighting it and letting embarrassment creep in, what would happen if we let our stumbling be the dance? On our way down, maybe we *really* get down. Groove with it. Move with it. And then...when we’re ready to get up and try again...let’s Get On UP BABY! Pick up those feet, swivel those hips, dust off our shoulders, and rise with style. We got this!

There is first a sound, then a pulse, then a rhythm, then a melody. There is the space within us and the space that our inner space moves through. Each moment expectant, each movement emergent. Exploring the line between moving and being moved, dancing and being danced. Bodies, fine tuned and free. Every movement an evolution of the soul. The magic is there.

~ Wildflowers ~

How much time do we spend cultivating the gardens of our life? We may plant, tend, water and w**d, and have a certain 'image' of what will grow and how it will look. But sometimes, without even a conscious intention, something wild & beautiful begins to grow. Perhaps the same can be true in our dance. A spontaneous wild and beautiful motion can emerge without a plan and when we least expect it. In this Sunday's dance, let's ask ourselves: What is here now? Beautiful and growing...EXPRESSING through us, without over-efforting. Let's open our hearts to spontaneous beauty and the wildflowers that want to bloom into our dance and our lives.

~ Time for Space ~

Time…being with what is now instead of what is next. Feel your feet. Follow your breath. Let your body speak, let this dance be an invitation to step into the here-and-now. Shake, sway, stretch, groove, rest, and move in whatever way feels true. No experience needed. No right way to do it. Just music, movement, and a room full of humans remembering how good it feels to be in their bodies. Come as you are. Move what wants to move. Leave with a little more space inside.

~ Grounded in Love ~

What is your body’s relationship to stress? In these smoky days, and for myriad other reasons, life includes experiences where tension or stress in the body seems only natural. Where possible, and as often as we remember, we can breathe with these sensations and soften unneeded muscle tension. In our dance this week, let’s practice the human art of staying connected to creativity, breathing presence, and grounding love into our physical bodies & expression in response to signals of stress.
