Yes folks, I’m afraid it’s that time. Time to step away from public appearances. I’m not going away completely, but I realize that I’m at the age where I can’t always rely on my body to be ready to GO when I might want it to. Over the past couple of years, I’ve had to cancel on a few gigs due to body/health reasons, and the most recent occurrence this past week was the last time I can let that happen. I’d much rather step back and be thankful for the many years of fun I’ve had. So, this is my “soft retirement”! I may still suit up for select occasions, however I’m no longer offering my availability for advertising or public appearances.
It was 35 years ago when I launched my career in professional costume work, performing in the Midwest and Florida. That was my life until 2012 when I retired and relocated with my husband (who you may know as Morris the Moose) to Portland to go to school and do something different with the “latter half” of my life.
BUT…the costuming bug doesn’t go away. So, in 2014 I put together what would become Korny the Chicken – a comical costume designed for fun on my own terms. That led to an amazing decade of unique and exciting experiences for which I am most thankful. I’ll always look back fondly on all of my time spent in feathers. Thank you to everyone who made these years so special!
