We are a club member track associated with District 14 and AMA. With the help of those founding fathers, it has grown into the club we are today.

Portland Trail Riders(PTR), a non profit organization, was established in 1968 by some very devoted bike riders. PTR is an AMA Didstrict 14 chartered competition club, hosting a variety of events including a highly publicized Professional National Race qualifier (the only one in the entire state) in 1978. In 1999, PTR was awarded Track of the Year by the AMA. The PTR facility is spread over 90+ acres, comprised of a 1.5 mile motocross track, a 3.4+ mile hare scramble track and a quarter mile mini-motocross track for the kids. In addition, PTR owns its own equipment to groom the track to keep it in race-ready condition. The track is friendly enough for beginners but can challenge A class riders as well. With over 10 acres of parking, several spectator viewing areas, restrooms, a water station for cleaning your rides and a good sized playground, PTR prides itself in offering a fun atmosphere that encourages family-oriented racing. At each race event, concessions are available, as well as ambulatory services at the ready for the facility. PTR is managed and maintained by its members hard work and devotion. Funding for the facility is provided by events, advertising
and donations. In addition, PTR participates in "Green" initiatives sponsored by the Michigan DNR and Department of Forestry. PTR welcomes all riders and is proud to offer a well planned track layout, event schedule and a safe riding environment for everyone.

Thank you to all who came out to AMA D14 Hare Scrambles yesterday! It was a beautiful day for both riding & watching and we hope you all had a great time!

Congrats to our overall winner, as well as individual class winners! 🏆

We’d like to thank all of our members, volunteers and 2026 season sponsors. We truly couldn’t put on our events without you all!

The weather is shaping up to be beautiful Sunday for our AMA D14 Hare Scramble. We’re knocking on wood the forecast holds! We can’t wait to see you all!

- Food Venders on-site Sunday (Black Kat Baked Goods & Mexican Food Truck)

The day starts bright & early with our littlest riders -
- 50cc Start – 8:00 a.m. (Parade Lap)
- Youth Start - 9:00 a.m.
- C classes Start - 10:30 a.m.
- A/B Classes Start - 1:00 p.m.

Thank you again to everyone who came out and got muddy with us this weekend. I’m sure we all will be finding mud & dirt, even after we’re sure it’s gone, for the foreseeable future 🫣 It obviously wasn’t an ideal race weather weekend - but hopefully you still had at least a little fun.

We truly appreciate everyone who donated and bought 50/50. We were able to raise almost $2,000 for Dave Smith! Please continue to keep him in your thoughts 🫶🏼

We are also less than 2 weeks away from our Hare Scramble, so keep an eye out for more information!
