Are you on an improv team? In a sketch group? Performing stand-up? An actor looking to explore your inner clown? Or a student of any of these mediums interested in exploring character work?
If any of these questions sound familiar, then my workshop on Creating Comedy Characters could be just right for you!
In this 3-hour workshop you’ll learn to tap into your own hidden characters with physical and vocal adjustments, catch-phrases and distinct gestures. We’ll explore the world these characters live in and create backstories to draw upon when playing them. By the end of the workshop you’ll walk away with at least 3 unique comedy characters to use in improv sets, sketches, stand-up, and comedic script work.
When: Sunday, May 4th.
Time: 11-2pm
Where: Spotlight Studio—1123 SE Market St. Portland
Cost: $50
