Whereas movies first play in theaters and later are seen on small screens, this is programming originally meant for a living room projected in a huge auditorium with state of the art sound. Our primary goal is too exhibit the very best of television history complete with commercial interruptions. This includes Saturday Morning Cartoons, Prime Time Action, Holiday Specials, Situation Comedies, British Television, Made for TV Movies, Educational Shows, Music Videos and all the crazy advertisements that came with it. The nostalgia effect is incredible. You are actually transported back in time to an era and a mindset. Some of it is quite bizarre, particularly when remembering that much of this was designed and approved to be on Network Television broadcast to American homes.

1986 was the year of transition. After an almost totally optimistic '85, dark times appeared in the media, dampening our spirits. From the Challenger to Chernobyl, it seemed that the party was over. Far from it!

Record labels spent copious amounts of money on music video production values. A great variety of visual emotions flooded MTV. We’ve tried to squeeze all the best into one electric evening: mock concerts, mini movies, movie tie-ins, hip hop and rock hybrids, break out songs and beautiful psychedelia. From somber to sexy, Sting to Stacey Q, The Bangles to Bon Jovi, Prince to Peter Gabriel, The Dream Academy to Depeche Mode, Eddie Money to Madonna and everything in between.

MTV bumpers and commercials ALL culled from the confines of 1986 VHS recording sessions are interspersed throughout to make this a true Video Time Machine.
