12-12:15: warm up

12:15-1:15: solo-together rehearsal
- we turn off our cameras/audio and turn inward for an hour of rehearsing together/apart

1:15-1:30: cool down / break

1:30-2:30: (impromptu) salon
- we gather & give each other feedback on the work, share revelations, ask questions about places we are stuck, with time to present a few in progress works if desired!

Everything is optional & you are welcome in every segment of the session!

Why rehearsal?
As I prepare to host and perform in the upcoming Saturn show, I return to the questions of how Saturn’s energy can infuse not just the show, but the process that gets us there. I ask: what containers will support me in that process? Discipline, as in being a disciple. Support for the commitments I need to make to myself, & to you — the show, the cast, the audience. Support for my q***r, neuroemergent relationship to time, beloved time.

And then I thought… what I *need* is the support, external accountability and momentum, of REHEARSAL. All the relationship building, the energy combining, and the fun, without the punishment or pressure or lack of physical safety that I personally grew up with in those spaces (for theatre, choir, etc).

Who to rehearse with? Drag performances are so often a solo endeavor. It is time to ask for help.

Then I thought… if this helps me, & I’m both a performer AND an audience member, perhaps the people who I might ask for help ARE themselves other performers and audience members who would benefit from the container I have come up with for myself.

So! I begin to host the show Saturn by hosting these rehearsals, & you’re all invited.

This is an emergent container – let’s emerge together! 🕯️

🎭 Who is invited to rehearse?
This is for me: Max Little, host of Saturn’s upcoming drag show, performance and video artist, teacher, learner, human, professional audience member; and I hope this is for you: (drag) performance artists, audience members, drag-curious humans, painters, writers, filmmakers, healers, baristas, political organizers, parents, teenagers, trans babes, critical thinkers…

💪 What are we rehearsing?
What do you want to rehearse? Up to you - you are your own show director! Saturn wants you to succeed by showing up, whatever that looks like for you. Make a commitment to yourself. Set a goal. Commit to practicing something between now and mid-December (or beyond!), and see what happens. Could be learning to play the guitar, could be daily calling your representatives to demand a ceasefire in Gaza, could be continuing an existing commitment of practice, could be anything you need.

🌱 How to rehearse?
Practice on your own outside of rehearsal in whatever ways you want. Attend any or all group rehearsals, as meets your needs and works with your schedule, to help create and get in on this confluence of community commitment. Option to workshop and run through what we are rehearsing, by receiving and/or offering witnessing and feedback.

🕯️ Saturn wants to be your body double, and on December 15 & 16, will be waiting with open arms to celebrate what you commit to.

One of these shoes is not like the others…

😻 Welcome to the stage and the family… Lil’ Cat Little! 😻

Out of drag, he’s currently going by Sir Steven Svensonson - Stevie for short. He has many namesakes, but number one is our great q***r ancestor, Mr. Stephen Sondheim. Stevie for short!

In his recent GQ cover story, he divulged that he loves “chewing on shoes, climbing furniture, raspy meowing, playing (all kinds), farting, following Dad around the house, sleeping in small spaces, and being a talented explorer.” He’s also fully blind, very proud of his unique sensory way of being in the world, and building his skills and network as an advocate for cross-disability solidarity. What a guy!

We expect to see him gracing the digital stage again soon with theatrical and clown-inspired works of cat art. 🎨
