Thank you for the promotion, The Crowbait Club!
We had a sea of new faces at the last Deathmatch, including the hard working interns at Portland Stage. They all had scripts and Nolan Ellsworth's "Dark Dark Woods" was a Best Play Finalist.
They also have their own theatre company, Pinecone and Tassel Collective, and they are producing a staged reading of Sheila Callaghan's "Crumble (Lay Me Down Justin Timberlake)"
The Abstract:
"It's Christmas, and a year has passed since the untimely death of Janice's father. Struggling to cope, Janice is holding spiteful conversations with her dolls, and Mother is suffering from panic attacks, with only her baking skills to keep her busy. In their deteriorating Apartment that incessantly begs for repairs, their only comforts are visitations from their respective celebrity crushes -- Justin Timberlake and Harrison Ford. With the support of Justin's affection, Janice begins to craft a plan that will mend the chasm in their lives. Meanwhile, the Apartment is developing murderous plans of its own..."
This is just up our alley, original work featuring local actors. Admission is free, but if you donate, all proceeds are matched and go to the ACLU. And as we all know, we need the ACLU now more than ever.
The show is tomorrow 12/18 at 7pm at Portland Stage Studio Theater.
Congratulations P&TC! Good theatre and good works are a swell combination
