Mark Humpal Fine Art The Gallery has been the leading purveyor of historical Oregon and Northwest art since 2001. We have paintings, sculpture, and ceramics made pre-1975.

The Gallery is devoted to presenting the finest work done by our historical Pacific Northwest Artists. You'll find 19th century realist work, early 20th century Impressionists, WPA-era expressionists, and mid-century modernist and abstract work. I'm constantly researching and digging out information about our aritsts and have written about a number of them. I'm always happy to share what I know or

help a puzzled customer figure out who did the painting passed down through the family, free of charge.

After my 5 mile morning walk, I settled into a bowl of granola topped with fresh Oregon strawberries. I began to think about my friend, artist Ray Strong. We had visited him a week before he died on July 3, 2006. It then hit me that this was the 20th anniversary of his death. Today. At the time we saw him, he told me he was taking in liquids only. Except for some fresh Oregon strawberries. I'm proud of the book I wrote about Ray and his career, but more than that, I'm thankful for having met him. The color photo is from 2005 showing Ray explaining to me his panels made for the Palo Alto Junior Museum. The earlier photo is circa late 1920s.
