This workshop provides an in-depth exploration into dance improvisation and the creative process. Special attention is directed to the senses to become better at listening and dialoguing through movement. Participants will actively straddle the line between conscious, intellectual engagement, and abandonment, making space for movement and interactions that surprise and resonate. Touch and weight sharing are invited, for those who so choose. We will celebrate a connection to community through movement and live music. Join us!

Congratulations to Ellie Schwartz '26! Ellie reflects on her experience in the theatre department: “Voice and Movement, Playwriting, and the Oregon Shakespeare class were the most valuable classes I took during my time here. Voice and Movement stretched my abilities as a performer and taught me new ways of using my voice and body; Playwriting awoke a new love of playwriting that I felt emboldened to explore; and the OSF class was aligned perfectly with my interests and allowed me to spend a whole summer immersed in what I love best.” Ellie wrote a new play, "Phantasmagoria" for the thesis festival that opened to rave reviews. We all hope to see Ellie's work on stage in the future!
