Portland Piano International

Portland Piano International Presenting the world's finest pianists in recitals.

For over 40 years, Portland Piano International has presented more than 150 artists in solo recital and through outreach activities. Some of the greatest artists in the world of music — Emanuel Ax, John Browning, Shura Cherkassky, Arnaldo Cohen, Bella Davidovich, Misha Dichter, Vladimir Feltsman, Leon Fleischer, Richard Goode, Stephen Hough, Stephen Kovacevich, Radu Lupu, Ivan Moravec, Murray Pera

hia, Peter Serkin, Andras Schiff, Mitsuko Uchida, Andre Watts, to name a few — have played for Portland audiences because of this organization. While pianists have many opportunities to play the concerto repertoire, this is one of only a handful of recital series that remains devoted to the solo piano recital, and invitations to appear on the series are highly prized. Lorin Hollander spoke for many people when he said, “It is wonderful to have such a treasure as the Piano Recital Series!”

Critics call his Schubert "ravishing." They've also watched him compose a full sonata on stage from audience suggestions. Most pianists do one or the other. Charlie Albright does both, and makes both feel effortless. That combination is exactly why Portland Piano International is excited to welcome him to Lincoln Performance Hall. Friday, May 8 at 7:30 PM. Tickets: portlandpiano.org/charlie-albright
