The Pacific Northwest's legendary Black Lodge Burlesque presents a screening LOST HIGHWAY (1997)! Performers Baby LeStrange, Wanda Bones, and Sophie du Mal star in a preshow cabaret inspired by the works of cult master David Lynch.

Tickets: hollywoodtheatre.org/show/black-lodge-burlesque-lost-highway

In LOST HIGHWAY, Lynch intersects two separate stories: a jazz musician (Bill Pullman) tortured by the idea that his wife is having an affair before becoming accused of her murder, and a young mechanic (Balthazar Getty) drawn into a web of deceit by a woman with a gangster boyfriend. Both tales are linked by the iconic Patricia Arquette as two different women—all in this cult neo-noir from one of cinema’s most original filmmakers.

2nd show added at 9:30pm with Gerald V. Casale!

Mississippi Records presents an Evening of Restorations and Rarities from the Vault with Gerald V. Casale (DEVO) and restorationist Peter Conheim in person!

Formed in the wreckage of the Kent State shootings in 1973, where co-founders Gerald V. Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh were students during the massacre, and still blowing the horn as America approaches its semiquincentennial, Akron’s DEVO would take their subversive pop-art to staggering mainstream success. And all the while, they considered themselves filmmakers as much as they were a “band."

From their first film onward (1976’s The Beginning Was the End: The Truth About De-Evolution), they fused their love of dadaist image making with their constantly shapeshifting music, confounding their record label by plowing their meager advances into companion films for songs.

This program unveils sparkling new restorations of much of this pivotal work (including Satisfaction, Freedom of Choice, Whip It and much more) alongside a host of rarely (and never)-seen live footage, encounters with hapless interviewers and other spud ephemera, curated specially for Mississippi Records and the Hollywood Theatre by archivist Peter Conheim.

Tickets are $25 for members and $30 general admission.

What are you watching at the Hollywood this weekend? Now playing: giant monsters with live orchestra, strange doorways, unusual answers, an international bear, and giant robots!

GAMERA VS. ZIGRA
House of Scordatura returns with a gloriously unhinged night of live music, live theater, and giant-monster cinema: GAMERA VS. ZIGRA.

A live ensemble performs an original score in tight sync with the film, while onstage performers, theatrical mayhem, and analog wizardry collide with the screen. The score is an original work by Portland composer Justin Ralls, who also wrote the music for last year's wildly successful TURKISH RAMBO.

Tickets are available for Saturday, 1pm and 7pm. (Friday is sold out)

BACKROOMS
A film by Kane Parsons, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, and Lukita Maxwell.

A strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom.

A new original event film created and directed by Steven Spielberg. Starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo.

BLUE SUBMARINE NO. 6
Mecha Panic presents the wildly original and technologically experimental 4-episode mecha classic, BLUE SUBMARINE NO. 6, on the big screen!

The once famous and well respected scientist Zorndyke has bred a new genre of living being, one that thrives on the oceans and lives to destroy humans. It is up to Blue Submarine No. 6 and the rest of the Blue fleet to put an end to Zorndyke’s madness and creations.

Robin Williams's iconic MRS. DOUBTFIRE (1993) dons her wig and returns to the big screen for For Goodness Cakes! All proceeds from this benefit screening go toward their work giving youth in foster care a special moment.

Tickets: hollywoodtheatre.org/show/mrs-doubtfire

MRS. DOUBTFIRE stars Robin Williams as the legendary Scottish housekeeper—an alternate identity assumed by cartoon voice actor Daniel Hillard so he can continue to see his children after his unhappy wife Miranda (Sally Field) files for divorce. But how long can Euphegenia Doubtfire keep up appearances? Co-starring Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstien, and Mara Wilson, MRS. DOUBTFIRE is a beloved '90s family gem.

About For Goodness Cakes:
For Goodness Cakes is a nonprofit organization that bakes and delivers birthday and graduation cakes to youth in foster care. By providing a child with a treat made especially for them, it gives them some much needed time to not feel the increasing pressure of their socioeconomic situation, but rather to help nurture optimism and confidence at a critical age.

Vault of Horror celebrates 30 years of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s game changing meta-slasher SCREAM (1996)!

Tickets: hollywoodtheatre.org/show/scream

Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is just like any other privileged teenager in wine country—she’s got an adoring boyfriend (S***t Ulrich), popular friends (Rose McGowan and Matthew Lillard), a palatial home packed with staircases and breakaway decor, a dead mom, and a masked stalker who won’t stop killing everyone she knows. Can Sid unmask the killer with the unlikely help of reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Deputy Dewey Riley (David Arquette)?

Co-starring Drew Barrymore in a culture-shattering opening sequence perhaps second only to PSYCHO’s first act, SCREAM remains a gold standard in the horror and slasher genres three decades later.

Wyrd War invites you to celebrate Richard Donner’s supernatural horror classic THE OMEN (1976) on the precise 50th anniversary of its 1976 U.S. theatrical release date.

Gregory Peck and Lee Remick lend their inimitable charm and cinematic gravity to the satanic epic that launched a franchise as Robert and Katherine Thorn, expectant parents living in Rome who are faced with the ultimate horror. After their child dies at birth, a priest convinces Robert to spare his wife the agony of grief by secretly adopting a baby whose mother also died during childbirth. Despite the best of intentions, deceiving one’s wife does not yield the best of outcomes, and after a series of strange occurrences and grisly deaths the couple slowly realizes that their child Damien could in fact be the unholy Antichrist prophesied in the Bible.

Boasting a stirring orchestral/choral Oscar winning Best Original Score by Jerry Goldsmith, THE OMEN is the one that started it all. See it again on the big screen for one night only. "Ave Satani!"

TGIQ x AniMayhem presents the surreal-queer-Shoujo classic, ADOLESCENCE OF UTENA!

Tickets: hollywoodtheatre.org/show/adolescence-of-utena

Utena enrolls in the prestigious Ohtori Academy on her quest to become a prince, and stumbles into a mysterious cabal of students dueling for possession of the “Rose Bride.” The role belongs to their classmate Anthy, an enigmatic girl who equally captivates and confuses Utena. While fending off powerful rivals, Utena must uncover the secrets surrounding Anthy and her own desires. As the relationship between the girls intensifies, their thirst for freedom crescendoes into a need for revolution.

ADOLESCENCE OF UTENA is a standalone genre classic that brings together the creative genius of director Kunihiko Ikuhara (Revolutionary Girl Utena, Sailor Moon), writer Yoji Enokido (EVANGELION franchise), and art director Shichiro Kobayashi (ANGEL’S EGG) with J.A. Seazer’s transcendent music. Straddling the line between fairytale and surrealist opera, the film stands as a bold display of the ways social roles chain us— and demands we smash through them.
