Mark and I created this sculpture to explore the idea that we live in juxtaposition, always. When the outside world creates obstacles, we often build similar boundaries within ourselves. We hold back our lighter selves to adapt to, or submit to, circumstances. Yet, the very same burdens that can serve as weights, can also be wings. Contentment and deep sorrow alike reside in the experiences of the everyday, just as they do in the freedom of the imagination.
