We serve the entire Roosevelt High School Campus. The department itself is divided into three parts: Classes, Productions, and Thespians. CLASSES..offers a variety of coursework. Classes offer selections for both acting and technical theatre students with additional opportunities for outside work. All Theatre Art
s coursework is offered through Roosevelt's traditional coursework, as well as an after school credit program. PRODUCTIONS..hosts a range of production opportunities. Students can audition for after school productions from improvisation to one-acts, full-lengths to musicals, depending on the year. Some productions come from inside the courses on campus. The resident production company is Opening Act Theatre Company. THESPIANS..includes both a Drama Club and official Thespian Troupe #7289 (see separate troupe page). Any student interested in theatre can belong to the Drama Club. If students earn 100 or more hours through exemplary service in educational theatre, they are eligible to inducted into the International Thespian Society as official Thespians. Thespians are a part of the Drama Club. Only Thespians can be officers of Drama Club. Roosevelt is proud to be a part of the Oregon Chapter of the Educational Theatre Association and Oregon Thespians.
