Lenora's Ballroom is reopening its doors to dancers beginning 10/6/14. We are reinstating Monday Waltz with a short class and then open dancing until 10:30. New styles and classes of dance are being offered see lenorasballroom.com. for additional updated information.

It is with a full heart that I share the passing of Dick Brainard one of the most influential dancers in Portland.
 Dick was the one who booked the Zydeco acts at the waterfront blues festival’s
Front porch stage.
He was a straight up guy, and he led by example, and was one of my friends.

As a profession, Dick was an urban planner architect, and many buildings in Portland and other cities across the world bear his mark.

In the pictures below I caught Dick taking a banana break at the waterfront blues festival. The second picture is him seeing me taking his picture with his banana.

Thank you, Dick for who you are and what you brought to the community.
