My (white) guilt and depression usually hits another level this time of year, a fluidity of thoughts geared around taking my own life, sparing others and myself of this continued struggle. This constant subtle rage. But I don’t deserve the easy way out, none of us white folk do. I can’t even imagine what today must be like for Black & Indigenous folks (who actually give a f**k and who haven’t been culturally whitewashed), or for woman who have to listen to the term “freedom” all day while knowing damn well they’re not. So swallow that knot in your throat and buck the f**k up, Bryce.

A few folks have asked how to contribute toward or with certain campaigns, particularly if they happen to live in a different district or state.

Well, here is a great way to help an amazing Oregon candidate. This is my friend, Carina Miller. She’s attempting to flip a long Republican held Oregon State Senate seat in District 30. She was the first woman to hold an elected seat on the Tribal Council of the Warm Springs Tribes, she’s a graduate of the University of Oregon, a Mother, Partner, and all around awesome human being. If your gig is equality, then you two are already on the same page. Carina and her campaign manager, Amanda Squiemphen-Yazzie, are looking for help with phone banking, something you can do from home while still having a significant impact. It’s the last 12+ days of the election window, so any help would be amazing! ...I’ll post the sign up link in the comments of original post.
