John Nilsen & Swimfish - The future of the past!
This project was such a blast to work on. John and I have worked together since my days at Sound Impressions... over 30 years ago! These Swimfish albums have been an adventure. John is joined by some very musical people... Bob Logue, Mike Snyder, Don Woodward and Dave Captein round out this quintet. I'm always thankful that John give me a bit of free rein in the production chair. I try to keep my thumbprint out of the music unless requested. There's definitely a couple moments where some of my influences are very evident but it is always in keeping with the spirit of the Swimfish world and our common influences.
A conscious effort was made to make this version a bit more vocal forward. It certainly shows of the bands sense of harmony.
CD's are available at Music Millennium. After sitting in front of the speakers for hours on this project I highly recommend the CD or streaming on a hi-def service such as Tidal (which also shows off the brilliant mastering by David Glasser at Airshow Mastering... However, thanks to YouTube, here's a peak into the spirit of the album.

Client Music Release Day!
This track was a joy to produce for Lisa Warren! Lisa came to me with a demo version that she had recorded a few years back and everything was there to get the complete vibe of the song. Many thanks to the musicians that participated in this song... more to come in the future. I'll also be revamping my music page on my website (about 5 years overdue) and this will definitely be on it.

It took a few attempts to find a good mic'ing technique at the new location, but i found this works quite well now on several sessions.

2 Cathedral Pipes Microphones above the felts and a couple Coles 4038s outside the piano.

This could all change as a couple CMC5s will be on their way soon!
